Hangama 2008

Hosted by Iota Nu Delta, Hangama brought 12 bhangra and fusion dance teams together to compete for a grand prize of over $1000. The competition was hosted by comedian Rajiv Satyal and also featured a performance by renowned comedian Dan Nainan.

At this fundraiser, Executive Director Purvi Shah spoke about Sakhi's work to an audience of over 500 people! We thank Iota Nu Delta for helping us raise awareness of domestic violence and donating their proceeds.

V-Day Fair at Hunter College

Part of Eve Ensler's V-Day celebration, this was a fun and educational fair to celebrate women's empowerment and raise awareness around violence against women. Several organizations, including Sakhi, shared their knowledge and let students know how they can be involved in the movement to end violence. To learn more about the V-Day campaign, click here.
